Who we are

MORA Consulting is 100% Black owned company, established in 2018 with the intent of contributing professional services in the ecological and environmental sector.  Mora Consulting is actively developing an organisation that adds value to every node and contact point of the Ecological and Environmental  value chain and expanding into complementary industries  reliant on this Ecological and Environmental offering.

Mokgatla Molepo (MSc)

Mokgatla holds a Master of Science in Ornithology from Nelson Mandela University under the scholarship of Percy Fitzpatrick Institute of African Ornithology
(University of Cape Town).

Mokgatla has an experience of intensive field surveys on terrestrial biodiversity studies. He has conducted over 100 specialist assessments ranging from Solar Energy, Wind energy, Mixed Use Development, Road Construction and Powerlines. He is on South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) advisory panel and a member of the Academic Advisory Committee for the Department of Environmental, Water and Earth Sciences at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). 

He is also registered with and member of the following:

•  South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP), Registration number: 009509.
•  Zoological Society of Southern Africa (ZSSA), Membership No. 691.
•  British Ecological Society – BES (Reg No. 1010709)
•  Gauteng Wetland Forum.

Qualifications:  

– MSc Zoology, Nelson Mandela University:
  Research Project Topic: Foraging behaviour and thermal physiology in Cape
  Sugarbirds: sex-specific responses to temperature.
– BSc Honours in Zoology, University of Limpopo:  Research Project Topic:
  Morphometrics and plumage variation in the South African Fiscal flycatcher Sigelus
  silens Shaw 1809.
– BSc Botany & Zoology, University of Venda.
– Basic Project Management, Hudisa Business School.
– Grade 12, Marobathota High School.

Ramokone Mothwa (BSc. Hons)

Ramokone holds an Honours degree in Botany from University of Limpopo. Her field of expertise is botanical taxonomy, and she is currently researching on the genetic diversity of selected South African indigenous tree species through University of Pretoria. Prior to joining MORA Ecological Services, Ramokone worked as a Barcoding Technician at African Centre for DNA Barcoding, University of Johannesburg, and also as a Laboratory Technician and Project Coordinator for Science Community Engagement at University of Pretoria.

Qualifications:

– MSc Botany (Current), University of Pretoria
– Research Project Topic:  Genetic diversity of selected South African indigenous tree
   species
– BSc Honours in Botany, University of Limpopo
– Research Project Topic:  A comparison of leaf morphometrics in Psychotria capensis
– BSc Botany & Microbiology, University of Venda.
– Grade 12, Marobathota High School.

Mr. Thabo Mohlala

Thabo holds a MSc degree in environmental science from WITS University. He is an Aquatic Scientist within MORA Ecological Services and holds over 10 years of experience in the field of aquatic ecological assessment covering most areas of southern Africa. He is an accredited RHP Practitioner and certified SASS5 Practitioner.

He is a member of:
• International Association for Impact Assessment South Africa (IAIASA)
• South African Society of Aquatic Scientists (SASAQS)

Dr Caswell Munyai

Caswell holds a PhD in Entomology (Myrmecology) from University of Venda. He is the co-founder of Soutpansberg Mountain transect project responsible for monitoring the response of terrestrial arthropods to global climate change. This long-term project has been running from 2009 to present.

He is a member of Entomological Society of Southern Africa (ESSA).

Isaiah Tshepo Makgopa

Tshepo Makgopa studied Civil Engineering at Tshwane University and completed his National Diploma in 2016. He also obtained Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Engineering at Tshwane University of technology.

He is registered with ECSA as Candidate Engineering Technologist.

Throughout his career, Tshepo was involved in numerous projects such Water conservation and Water Demand for Municipalities, feasibility
studies for numerous water pipeline and water balance, He further had experience in construction work, such as dam construction, bulk water supply, sewer pipeline, water meter
replacement, pressure and flow logging and other civil engineering related projects.

Tshepo’s role at MORA includes:
• Development of Project plans.
• Liaison with clients.
• Advising on implementation
of rehabilitation projects.
• Assisting in environmental audits and implementing audit recommendations.
